Federal Law No. (13) of 2020 on Public Health

Federal Law No. (13) of 2020 on Public Health sets an integrated system of scientific and applied rules in order to promote and protect public health according to the precautionary guidelines and confirmed scientific evidence and in line with international health regulations and any other regulations approved by the country. In addition, the law aims to enhance and support coordination and cooperation at all internal and external levels in terms of preparedness and response to face all health problems; raise the level of community awareness of the factors and risks that have a great effect on human health and their causes; establish a sense of individual and collective responsibility; and work to increase community awareness about methods of protecting human health, besides reducing risks affecting human health and society. Under this law, the National Committee for Public Health was founded, which prepares draft public health protection strategies and supervises the implementation of preventive and immediate response plans in the community, besides the coordinating between the ministry and various agencies with regard to public health protection.
