Federal Law No. (5) of 2019 On the Regulation of the Practice of the Human Medicine Profession

This law aims to regulate the practice of the human medicine profession and protect society from illegal medical practices. It applies to everyone who practices or requests to practice the human medicine profession within the United Arab Emirates, including the free zones. The law establishes the legal foundations for practicing the medical profession in a way that ensures its advancement and the provision of the best health services for individuals. The law also specifies the professional foundations and standards necessary to limit incorrect and illegal medical practices that violate the morals and ethics of the profession in general. In its 35 articles, the law addresses a number of topics, such as the necessity of licensing and establishing a registry, in addition to the classifications of visiting and resident doctors, training and securing the intern doctor and determining his responsibilities, the professional code of ethics, reporting injuries and incidents with criminal suspicion, and reaching disciplinary procedures and penalties.
