Federal Decree-Law No. (7) of 2022 on Amending Some of the Federal Law Provisions No. (15) of 2009 on Tobacco Control

Under Federal Decree-Law No. (7) of 2022, a new phrase was included to the Federal Law No. (15) of 2009, in particular to Article No. (5) of the same law, regarding the prohibition of tobacco cultivation for commercial purposes and manufacturing it within the country. The included phrase states that the Cabinet may issue a decision that authorizes the cultivation and manufacturing of tobacco, its products, its derivatives, and all related industries within the borders of the country. The above-mentioned decision includes all provisions and conditions to be adhered upon while obtaining a license to cultivate or manufacture, including the health conditions, renewal of fees, and the administrative and financial penalties for violating the provisions of such a decision.
